Chelmsford Golf Club is one of the oldest traditional, private members' clubs in the county dating back to 1893. From modest beginnings, this gem of a parkland course is now recognised as one of the best in the County of Essex and is a 'must' for the discerning golfer.

Harry Colt, the pioneering English golf course architect, whose designs transformed clubs in France, the UK, Germany and the USA amongst others, redesigned the layout and structure of Chelmsford in 1924 and it remains in that form today. An eighteen hole parkland course, it stretches over 5981 yards with a good S.S.S. of 69, so both high and low handicappers can expect a challenging round.
